Get ready for the 10th CASSINI Hackathon: EU Space for Consumer Experience

This new edition invites innovators, coders, designers, entrepreneurs, and space enthusiasts to explore how EU Space technologies can contribute to consumer experience.

With the CASSINI Hackathons & Mentoring, EUSPA aims to foster EU Space data ideas and create business opportunities. This 10^th Hackathon edition is all about Consumer Experience.

There is no need for prior experience with space and space data. Everyone can join the Hackathon and bring in their ideas from an individual background.

10 Locations

The hackathon will be hosted simultaneously in 10 locations:

1. Belgium
2. Bulgaria
3. Finland
4. Germany
5. Greece
6. Italy
7. Kosovo
8. New Caledonia
9. Poland
10. Slovakia

Each location offers unique opportunities to collaborate, gain practical experience, and showcase the developed solutions to a jury of experts. The teams will be able to cooperate on-site or online.

After registration, participants have the possibility to learn more about EU Space data and its use. Experts will provide extensive materials to equip the teams with the necessary know-how to bring their ideas to life. As part of the Big Ideas Campaign a series of webinar is offered, to help teams prepare for the Hackathon weekend.

Through the hackathon’s platform, participants can use Copernicus, Galileo, and EGNOS to discover new innovative ways and solve challenges in gaming, sports performance and experience, and travel.

The Challenges

The teams can choose between three challenges:

1. Immersive Gameplay with Space Technology & Data - The growing market of gaming is no longer a niche industry. More and more people enjoy experiencing the wide variety of games that are out there. Use EU Space data to revolutionise gaming as we know it. You can create a new gameplay concept, develop new in-game mechanics, or improve other areas of virtual entertainment.
2. Space-Powered Performance - Transforming Sports Develop a solution that can enhance sports performance by improving training, analytics, and planning or improving fans’ experience.
3. Beyond Horizons – Redefining Travel with Space Innovation - Use EU space data assets to support sustainable tourism and enhance interactive travel experiences. By combining the improvements in travel with environmental protection, you can redefine the travel of tomorrow.

Participants will:

• Tackle real challenges in creating consumer-centric solutions powered by EU Space data and services.
• Connect with experts and mentors from the European space ecosystem.
• Compete for prizes including up to €5,000 in cash and 6 months of expert mentoring to take your idea to the next level. . Get hands-on experience with EU Space data.
• Get hands-on experience with EU Space data.

Important Dates

• The Big Ideas Campaign: 13 – 24 October. Become familiar with using EU Space data and get further insights into the challenges.
• Registration Deadline: 31 October. Each participant must register individually. Registering as a team is not possible.
• Hackathon Weekend: 07 – 09 November.
• Demo Day: 12 November. All winners will pitch in front of an expert jury, followed by an awards ceremony.
